Prosper

Prospers project is among four other social development projects hosted at HHCDO and is funded by Catholic Relief Services, Kenya (CRS-K). Prosper project’s goal is to ensure OVC households have improved quality of life. The main focus is on livelihood activities, water, sanitation and hygiene and health. The project is working in West and East Karachuonyo Divisions, East Kochia, East and West Kagan locations. Currently, we are supporting 3256 OVC and 1545 households guided by 65 CHVs, 17 PSPs and 7 VCOs.

Some of the activities conducted under Prospers 2017:

  1. Emphasizing the importance of NHIF and death certificates of parents for orphaned children
  2. Conducting health and economic strengthening activities
  3. Conducting school visitation
  4. SMART skills roll-out to FFS and SIC groups
  5. Extension visits to FFS and JFFLS by MOALF and staff
  6. Linkage of caregivers to available markets
  7. SILC supervision visits by PSPs
  8. SILC group leaders training
  9. PSP monthly meetings
  10. OVC termly mentorship meetings
  11. Supervisory visits with CHVs, VCO and CHVs
  12. Monthly review meetings,
  13. Meeting with private sector
